Boba Network is a Layer 2 optimistic rollup built on Ethereum. Based on the OP Stack, Boba is fully EVM compatible, offers lower gas fees and higher throughput than Ethereum mainnet, and introduces unique features such as Hybrid Compute (calling off-chain APIs from smart contracts) and native account abstraction.

The Boba API is a collection of JSON-RPC methods that lets you interact with the Boba network. If you're familiar with Ethereum's JSON-RPC API, working with Boba will feel immediately familiar.

Send your first request on Alchemy

Let's use the viem package to create a Boba client connected to Alchemy and fetch the latest block number.

npm install --save viem

Create a client connected to Alchemy
