“We’re really excited that Alchemy will now support Solana. Their launch will give developers greater access to high-quality infrastructure and tooling.”
The Best Reliability in Web3
Alchemy takes care of the hard parts of building on blockchain by providing the most reliable infrastructure in web3. Solana testing shows Alchemy uptime at 99.9%, making it the best option to build a dApp that’s accessible 24/7.
Free for the First 500 Teams, Through 2022
Solana has always been one of the most affordable solutions for web3 devs. Now, we’re making it free to build on Solana with Alchemy. We already have the largest free tier in web3. But we’re doing more: regardless of tier, the first 500 Solana developers will have free Alchemy access through 2022.
Lightning Fast Transactions
Solana's parallel smart contract runtime, Sealevel, enables exceptionally high throughput. With Solana’s processing speed of more than 2k transactions per second, and Alchemy's infinitely scalable infrastructure, Solana devs can build on Alchemy to seamlessly grow their app with user demand.
Solana is a Layer 1 blockchain that’s easy to develop on. No Layer 2 scaling solutions required to increase throughput or maintain low gas fees.
“We're thrilled that Alchemy will now be supporting Solana. Their infrastructure and product suite has a proven track record for performance benefits. This will be a game changer for Phantom and any other Solana developers who choose to start using Alchemy."
How does Solana work?
Solana is a Proof of Stake L1 blockchain that uses novel blockchain innovations like Proof of History and Sealevel to process smart contract transactions in parallel with 400ms block times. Solana is able to achieve an estimated 4,000 transactions per second, with transaction costs less than $0.01.
What resources should I use to start building on Solana with Alchemy?
What Alchemy functionality exists for Solana developers?
As of July 21st, 2022, all Solana devs will have access to:
1. Alchemy Supernode, with infinitely scalable infrastructure that allows you to easily launch and scale your dApps on Solana. Take a look at the complete list of supported methods.
2. Developer tools, including our Composer to prototype calls and our Explorer to optimize and spot bugs.
3. WebSockets, shipped based on your feedback. Check out subscription Websockets for Solana and learn more about Websockets and why you need them.
Why will using Alchemy be different than running our own Solana node?
Alchemy’s infrastructure, with 99.9% uptime, enables developers to launch their applications without having to run their own Solana node, which would require significant ongoing maintenance.
Alchemy’s Supernode has the simplicity of a single node, but with infinite and instant scalability. And guess what? Sign up early and it’s free for 2022.
What if I signed up during the Early Access period?
That’s awesome! If you signed up for early access, you should have already heard from our team. Thank you so much for your excitement.
Is the Solana Early Access period over?
Yes! As of July 21, 2022, anyone can start building on Solana with Alchemy!
Will Solana be free for everyone in 2022?
Yes. Through 2022, building on Solana with Alchemy will be free, and there will be no capped usage. Any team that needs more capacity than what comes with our Growth tier will need to sign an Enterprise contract that auto-renews at standard pricing in 2023.
I really want to build alongside the Solana community. What are the best ways to do that?
Up until August 16, you can join thousands of fellow developers in Solana’s Summer Camp Online Hackathon - Alchemy is an official resource for the initiative - and Alchemy access for all hackathon participants will be free in 2022.
We’ll also be supporting more Solana community events in the future, so stay tuned on Twitter for the latest updates.
How can I submit requests for more supported APIs and product functionality on Solana?
Please upvote your feature requests on our Roadmap! If you have a request that is not already listed, please create a post explaining the functionality you’d like, and a brief description of what you would use it for.
